1. Overview

AgentClerk ("we", "our", or "the plugin") is a WordPress plugin that enables ecommerce store owners to deploy an AI-powered sales and support agent on their WooCommerce store. This Privacy Policy describes how AgentClerk collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the plugin and the agentclerk.io website.

2. Information we collect

2a. From store owners (sellers)

When you install and activate AgentClerk, the plugin reads the following data from your WordPress and WooCommerce installation to build the agent knowledge base:

• Product names, descriptions, prices, categories, and attributes
• Store policies (refund, shipping, terms) if published on your site
• FAQ content and blog posts you have published
• Your store name and contact information as configured in WooCommerce

This data is processed locally on your server and used solely to train your agent. We do not transmit your full product catalog to AgentClerk servers.

API keys (BYOK): If you use the BYOK tier, your Anthropic API key is stored encrypted in your WordPress database on your own server. AgentClerk never transmits, logs, or stores your API key on any external server. API calls are made directly from your server to Anthropic's API.

2b. From buyer conversations

When a buyer interacts with your AgentClerk agent, the following data is collected:

• The conversation transcript (questions asked and agent responses)
• Whether a quote link was generated and whether a purchase was completed
• The value of any agent-attributed sale (for fee calculation purposes)

We do not collect buyer payment card data. Payment is processed entirely through your existing WooCommerce checkout and payment gateway. AgentClerk only receives a notification that a sale attributed to the agent was completed, along with the order value.

2c. From this website (agentclerk.io)

When you visit agentclerk.io, we collect standard web analytics data including pages visited, browser type, and approximate geographic location via cookies and analytics tools. We do not sell this data to third parties.

3. How we use information

• To operate the AgentClerk plugin and provide the agent service
• To calculate and bill transaction fees based on agent-closed sales
• To display conversation history and sales attribution in your dashboard
• To improve the plugin and agent performance over time
• To communicate with you about your account, billing, and product updates

4. Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only in the following circumstances:

• Anthropic: Conversation messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate agent responses. Anthropic's privacy policy governs how they handle this data.
• Payment processors: Billing for AgentClerk fees is handled by a third-party payment processor. We share only what is necessary to process your payment.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Data retention

Conversation transcripts and sales attribution data are retained for 12 months by default. You can delete conversation history at any time from your AgentClerk dashboard. Billing records are retained as required by applicable law.
